Note! This is now in garage.
I made a simple wrapper for osso-screenshot-tool. It is started from the Others menu and after a 5 second delay it takes a screenshot and saves it to Images folder.
You can install it to your n800 from my maemo-repository:
Web address: http://tuomas.kulve.fi/debian
Distribution: bora
Components: maemo
Or with single click install.
Chinook
Updated for Chinook.

Or with single click install.
Thanks! I have been searching for something to take a screenshot on the n800. This does exactly that and nothing more. Perfect :)
Thank you so much!!! Lol I was wondering when an app like this would turn up.
I can’t get this working. The installer refuses to install osso-screenshot-tool as it claims it’s an old version, and it won’t install the screengrabber without osso-screenshot being present.
It seems this may be caused by a recent change in the OS, as someone had been using it on their N800 but found they couldn’t reinstall it after they updated the firmware:

Thanks for the help Tuomas, it’s working now!
Tuomas, works like a charm. Thank you. I’ve been searching for this app for days. Thanks again!!

It might be the tool I searched for a long time… but my n800 was not able to include the repository . Is it possible to make the .deb-file downloadable for me?
Thanks a lot,
jukey

What kind of error do you get?
I’m trying to install your screen grabber application to my new Nokia N800 with the most current OS2008 version. The application manager refuses to process. The error message on the direct install is “Unable to install maemo-screengrabber. Incompatible application package.”
Did you try installing from the Maemo’s download page with the single click install?

I love this product and use it a lot. Is there any way it can be installed/added to the task bar (as Delicious and Quickclip do)?
The cpu load applet provides also the screen shot feature and that’s already in the status bar.
Hi Tuomas thanks for the reply but I can’t find any reference to a ‘cpu load applet’ in my task bar. What does the icon look like?
It can be installed from the downloads section in maemo.org:

Thanks Tuomas – perfect, just what I needed.
