It should find oggs from internal (or external) card after installing ogg-support. I'm pretty sure it doesn't go and index remote storages like UPNP and thus Media Player doesn't show them in the Library. Also I'm afraid the Media Player UI might have hard coded list of media files it shows, when opened directly from it (menu -> clip -> open) and thus there is no way to get oggs opened directly with it.
